INTERPRETER OR TRANSLATOR?
 Even the most informed
people will accidentally interchange these two  terms. It's totally understandable and an easy mistake.

A lot of people make this mistake because the phenomenon they are trying to describe IS a translation of one language to another. That is true. However...

HERE IS THE DIFFERENCE:

An interpreter INTERPRETS the spoken word

&

A translator TRANSLATES the written word.

Some interpreters are also translators and vice versa....but not that's not always the case.

Hi Sybil,
I had one of my employees in court yesterday (10/24/22) for a OVI charge and you were helping translate/ communicate to him. He is Mexican. I was in such a fluster over the situation that I forgot to get your phone number. My name is Kevin Grace with Grace Brothers Landscaping. I would really like to have you talk to my employees about some important issues. Is there a possibility that you could help me?
Thank you!
